Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas did not want Daniel Sturridge to go on a loan move
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas revealed he had not considered sending striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 on another loan move this season. The 22-yer-old English forward scored a fantastic goal on Saturday against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light which proved
to be the match winner as the Black Cats managed to get a consolation goal towards the end of the match.
Sturridge spent the latter half of the last season at Bolton Wanderers while manager Carlo Ancelotti was in charge at the club. With too many strikers already present at the club and the arrival of Fernando Torres from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the January transfer window,
it was decided to send the young striker out on a loan move. The half-a-season loan proved to very successful for the player and the club.
While with Bolton Wanderers, Sturridge made 12 appearances and scored 8 goals, an impressive form he has continued even upon his return. Having been highly impressive in pre-season, Villas-Boas revealed there had been many clubs interested in signing the
youngster on a loan move. However, the Portuguese manager said he was not willing to let the striker leave.
Villas-Boas said while speaking to reporters:
“We had a lot of teams calling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 to take him on loan during the transfer window but it was never going to happen.
The technical staff and I all had the feeling we should bring him in. We have an outstanding player.”
Sturridge revealed he was pleased with his performance and goal against Sunderland and admitted he felt he had earned a starting spot at the London club. He said he was thankful to Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle for giving him a chance to prove himself

“I've worked really hard after Bolton gave me the chance to show my ability.”
Having been suspended at the start of the campaign, Sturridge had to wait until after the international break to make an appearance for the Blues. “I'm so happy that the manager has put so much faith in me.
It's been a bit frustrating because I've been suspended for the start of the season and I didn't know if the manager was going to put me straight back in the team.”
