Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti admits Roma dream, Yuri Zhirkov to leave Stamford Bridge
Carlo Ancelotti’s Roma dream
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was undeniably flattered by the interest shown in him by former side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. The Italian manager went on to say that managing Roma was his dream. The Serie A side recently parted ways with coach Claudio Ranieri and had Ancelotti
at the top of their list to replace him at the Stadio Olimpico at the end of this campaign.
Ancelotti’s position at Stamford Bridge was under speculation as the Blues suffered their worst ever slump in 15 years. Chelsea were eliminated from the Carling Cup early on in the season and were recently eliminated from the FA Cup by Everton. The Blues
are fifth on the Premier League table and have to manage a top four finish if they wish to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
It is understood the former AC Milan manager would be shown the door if he did not win the Champions League, Ancelotti himself claimed he did not wish to manage a team which was not in the European competition, pressurizing his squad to perform better in
the Premier League. The Italian has managed to work his magic as the Blues are doing well in the Champions League so far.

Russian international Yuri Zhirkov admitted he could be on his way out during the summer if he was unable to find a spot in the first team at Chelsea. The left back c*m winger was one of Carlo Ancelotti’s first signings when he took over the manager’s post
at Stamford Bridge, but the 27 year old has failed to cement his place in the starting eleven. His inability to do so has mostly been because of injuries.
The Russian just returned from a three month injury and is determined to find his place in the first team. Zhirkov said while speaking to reporters, “My only target at the moment is to get back into the main Chelsea team. If I'm successful with that, all
the other issues will resolve themselves. But if I fail to achieve that between now and the summer, I will start thinking of other possibilities.”
CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg are reportedly keeping a close watch on the player, who will most likely be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. With the Blues aiming for a top four finish in the Premier League and a Champions League win,
there is currently no room for Zhirkov in the first team, especially since he has been missing for the past three months.
