Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti has hailed the attitude shown by the Blues’ talismanic striker Didier Drogba and claimed that his character has been fantastic in the last few weeks.
Didier Drogba, who started Chelsea’s last four matches on the bench, is likely to be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven against Blackpool on Monday.
Ancelotti said, “Didier is showing fantastic behaviour. He wants to play, obviously, but he's training very hard and he's focused every day. I had a fantastic bench against United. Didier, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuri-Zhirkov-c37683 and Jose Bosingwa gave fantastic support when they went
on and they changed the game.”
“The victory was important for the players' confidence. If we'd not been able to win against United, it could have been a problem in the future. But the last thing we must do now is think it will be easier against Blackpool - that's the wrong way to prepare,”
added the Chelsea boss.
Drogba, who was the top goal scorer for Chelsea and of the Premier League in the 2009-10 season, recently lost his first team berth to the club’s record signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707. The Ivorian skipper, who failed to ignite his last season’s goal scoring form,
has been mostly used as an impact substitute by Carlo Ancelotti in the last four matches.
Fernando Torres and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786 are being preferred over Drogba by the Chelsea management but Ancelotti has confirmed that the 32-year-old will once again lead the attack in the upcoming Premier League match against Blackpool on Monday. It is expected
that Drogba will partner Torres instead of Nicolas Anelka. It will be for the first time that these two strikers will be seen in action together and Ancelotti is hopeful for a fruitful result.
Chelsea will enter the match against Blackpool with hopes of cutting down the lead over League leaders Manchester United, who lost their last Premier League match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
Chelsea have recently defeated Manchester United and are currently 12 points behind Sir Alex Ferguson’s men. A win for Carlo Ancelotti’s men will put them only nine points behind United.
