Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti hails Blues’ return to form – Premier League news
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has hailed his team’s impressive return to form and has warned Manchester United and Arsenal that they have to be at their best or the Blues still have the strength to overcome them in the Barclays Premier League in the ongoing
2010-11 season.
He said, “If you think three months ago, it would have been a dream to arrive in this situation. I don’t know what we can do until the end. We have a possibility to fight to do our best. I think also Manchester United, Arsenal cannot make a mistake but this
is football. Always in April at the end of the season you have to play your card but we are ready to play.”
Despite a poor mid-season in which they slumped to fifth position from the top, Chelsea have put themselves right back into the contention for the Premier League title. The reigning League champions won back-to-back matches against Manchester United and
Manchester City which have brought them back in the title race.
Chelsea are currently placed third in the Premier League standings, 11 points behind League leaders Manchester United and also have a game in hand. However, Carlo Ancelotti feels that Chelsea still have an outside chance of retaining their Premier League
title and has claimed that neither Manchester United nor Arsenal could afford a single mistake at this time of the season.
Ancelotti said, “For every team to make a mistake now is very dangerous. Not just for us, because every team is involved in having their aims so you make a mistake here and you can lose your possibility to win something.”
However, Chelsea’s outside chances of overcoming Manchester United were hugely affected when they only managed to get a draw against Stoke City on Saturday.
Alongside Chelsea, Arsenal also failed to get all three points and suffered a goalless home draw against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385. Only Manchester United won their recent League match after they made a remarkable comeback against West Ham United on Saturday.
Nonetheless, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 still have to play Manchester United at Old Trafford and their title hopes would largely depend on that fixture.
