Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti hopes to see Mario Balotelli dropped by Roberto Mancini
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has acknowledged that he would love to see Mario Balotelli being axed by Manchester City for the tie at Stamford Bridge on Sunday after the striker got himself sent off in club’s Europa League fixture against Dynamo Kiev.
It has been reported that City manager Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 as a punishment for his red card, which not only cost them the tie against Dynamo Kyiv but also the Europa League.
Manchester City, who were favourites to win the Europa League had to score twice against Dynamo Kyiv at Eastlands in order to march through to the quarterfinals of the competition.
However, Mario Balotelli’s sending off- for planting studs on the opposition defender- completely changed the course of the game. The Ukrainian giants should be credited for fully exploiting the one-man advantage and knocked Manchester City out of the competition
despite losing the second leg.
Balotelli, however, has formally apologised to his team for the red card but his place in the 15-man squad is still not confirmed and Ancelotti claims that he would be happy to see Balotelli out of the match against them.
Ancelotti hailed the quality of Balotelli labelling him as one of the most technically gifted players of the world but insisted that he does not want to see the striker in action against his side.
Moreover, Ancelotti has urged former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan striker to improve his behaviour in order to earn more caps for Italy.
Chelsea manager said, “He had a lot of problems with his behaviour on the pitch, also in Italy, but I'm not able to judge him. He's one of the best young players in Italy and Italian football needs this kind of quality. Everyone in Italy hopes he will improve
his behaviour on the pitch. The Italian national team needs him in the squad. We hope his behaviour improves.”
Ancelotti sees match against Manchester City as the one of the season deciding fixtures and claims that the result of this tie will clear http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s position in the Barclays Premier League standings.
However, Carlo Ancelotti has never won against Manchester City during his reign at Stamford Bridge. Roberto Mancini’s men have already defeated the Blues in the first half of the ongoing 2010-11 season at Eastlands when Carlos Tevez scored the only goal
to earn all three points for City.
Furthermore, Carlo Ancelotti has lost his last three matches against the Citizens but confessed that strong tactical approach by their manager was the cause of all defeats.
The former AC Milan coach said, “I think that all three games we lost on counter-attacks. City will try to do the same now. They are very dangerous on the counter-attack, so we have to avoid this and maintain good balance on the pitch.”
