Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti reveals he does not fear losing his job at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he would have no problem if he was sacked at the end of the campaign. The Italian manager has failed to deliver any silverware in a season that was described http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s worst in over 15 years.
The recent blow came when Chelsea were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals by Manchester United. It has been widely rumored since then that the former AC Milan boss will most likely be on his way out during the summer.
The Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has previously not displayed any patience with managers who have not been able to deliver. The Russian billionaire is expected to do the same with Ancelotti at the end of the season, which is just seven games away.
Ancelotti remained calm over the possibility of losing his job soon, he said, “I don't know what my future is. At the end of the season, I think the club can decide if they want me to continue or if they want to change. If they are not happy, they can change
without problem.”
He insisted he would not have a problem if he was replaced, he continued, “If, at the end of the season, the owner decides my job was not good enough, this is not a problem. I will try to do my best, because I want to stay here. If there is a possibility
to do that, I will be happy.”
While Ancelotti will have no problem finding another job, with a few clubs already having offered him a job, the most notable one being Serie A side Roma, the Italian does not wish to leave Stamford Bridge. He said he was happy at Chelsea at wished to continue
with his current job.
The Italian got off to a flying start with the Blues, going on to win the domestic double of the English Premier League and the FA Cup in his first season with the club. However, his second season has not been as successful. Ancelotti admitted the current
season had not been great for the Blues.
“Last year is the past. Everyone was happy to win the double last year but this is the past. Obviously, this season was not a good season for us but now we have seven games,” he said.
Currently at third place on the English Premier League table, Chelsea have seven games left to go. Even though it seems highly unlikely, the Blues could retain the title if they go on to win the remaining fixtures with first place Manchester United and second
place http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-Maseru-c38430 losing their respective games.
