Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti says it is their dream to win the UEFA Champions League
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that it is his team’s dream to win the UEFA Champions League.
Ancelotti replied to Sir Alex Ferguson’s comments in which the Manchester United manager claimed that the London giants are obsessed with the European Championship.
The Italian said, “It's not an obsession, it's a dream. In three games, we have a possibility to play a final. At this moment of the competition it is a dream to reach the final.”
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson expressed his views on the upcoming second leg of the Champions League quarter-final and asserted that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ‘obsessed’ with the title.
Ferguson added, “It does seem to be an obsession with Chelsea to win the European Cup. The owner has every much nailed his colours to the mast in that respect. To have an obsession of winning the European Cup is stretching yourself a wee bit. At the end
of the day it is a very difficult competition to win.”
Sir Alex Ferguson, who has won the Champions League twice with Manchester United, is now aiming for his third European title but claimed that it is very hard to win it as the quality of the other teams is exceptional.
On the other hand, Carlo Ancelotti, who will be aiming for a win against United, has also won the Champions League twice with AC Milan and has all the experience to lead his team to the European glory.
The Blues are now trailing by one goal against Manchester United after a suffering a defeat in the first leg of the competition at Stamford Bridge. Carlo Ancelotti’s side must now make history to beat United at Old Trafford, as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are
unbeaten at their home in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
However, Chelsea were also the last club which emerged victorious against Manchester United but that victory came in the previous season when Carlo Ancelotti’s men were enjoying their peak form.
Moreover, Chelsea will become the third club in the history of the Champions League if they manage to qualify for the next round after losing the home leg.
Nonetheless, it will be a huge night for both the teams and the winner of this tie will surely make it through to the final of the Champions League.
