Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti wary of Manchester City threat - English Premier League
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that his side’s Premier League title hopes could hinge on the upcoming encounter against Manchester City. The two English giants will go head to head on Sunday, the 20th of March.
Ancelotti has every reason to be anxious about the clash. The Italian has so far been unable to get the better of Manchester City. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have lost all three matches against City ever since Carlo Ancelotti took over the reins of the club.
A victory on Sunday would see the Blues climb into third place in the Premier League standings, reducing the gap between leaders Manchester United to six points. However, defeat would surely put an end to their already wafer thin title hopes. Perhaps more
importantly, it would also put a serious dent in their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Not surprisingly, Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is hard at work preparing his team for the crucial encounter. Speaking on the upcoming fixture, the Italian said, “I think that all three games we lost on counter-attacks and City will try to do the same
now. They are very dangerous on the counter-attack, so we have to avoid this and maintain good balance on the pitch.”
Ancelotti admitted that Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini has been outthinking him for the last year. The Italian believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323’s tactics have been immaculate, which is why he has managed to bring down Chelsea in all previous meetings.
The Blues boss added, “He's (Mancini) a very intelligent coach who prepares a tactical game very well, that's the reason I have difficulty against him. I hope to change that on Sunday."
But it’s not just Chelsea who have much at stake in this game. Manchester City’s title hopes also hinge on the outcome. In fact, should City win, they would move to within four points of the Premier League leaders.
The Citizens will have to wait to find out whether the they can continue their dominance over the English Champions when the two sides go head to head on Sunday.
