Lampard said while speaking to reporters:
“For everyone it is a lift, but we have to be realistic. We know they dominated the game for long periods.
We won't be shouting from rooftops. We understand football.”
He admitted that his side were extremely happy about the result but were not willing to get carried away with the narrow victory. It was the English defenders who denied the Spaniards from finding the back of the net and equalizing the score line. He admitted:

“It wasn't the easiest goal I scored considering the way we had to chase around in the first half and I needed the legs to get up there.
But it was a very exciting goal for me to score, with captaining the team as well.”
On the goal, Lampard admitted it was not the easiest goal but definitely one of the most memorable ones he had scored in his career. Having had a highly successful experience as England captain, the Chelsea vice-captain revealed he was would not mind never captaining his country ever again.
