Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard sees Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney as the main threat
Chelsea playmaker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 will be a huge threat during their first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final fixture against the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard feels that Chelsea may have to face extra motivated Rooney following his two-match ban by the Football Association. The English striker was found guilty of using abusive language at a TV camera after he helped Manchester United to complete a historic
comeback victory over West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday.
Lampard said, “Wayne is always a very competitive player and there is never a good time to be playing against him. But there's a chance that the ban might spur him on even more. When you get negative headlines like he's had it can make you more of a threat.”
“It's not for me to say if I was surprised by the charge. The FA have made their decision and I think United have accepted it. But Wayne is a fantastic player and he'll definitely be a threat against us,” added the English midfielder.
However, the two-match ban by Football Association will not affect Rooney’s participation in the UEFA Champions League match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
