Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran looks up to Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, wants loan move
Josh McEachran, the 18-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 midfielder has managed to impress both club and country over the past season, earning him a place in the senior England squad.
Wilshere began his senior career with Arsenal in 2008 after earning a promotion from the youth academy and went on to score one goal in 8 appearances in all competitions. The next season he made 7 appearances for the Gunners before he was loaned out to Bolton Wanderers in the January transfer window for the remainder of the season.
Wilshere impressed immensely at Bolton, despite only managing to score a single goal in 14 appearances. The club tried to extend the players loan spell, but Wilshere was determined to return to the Emirates Stadium for the upcoming season where he was guaranteed regular football. Last season the midfielder made a total of 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing an impressive 9 assists.
McEachran, who has been a Chelsea player all his life, revealed he also wished to breakthrough like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 colleague Wilshere. He said he had been keeping an eye on the Arsenal players progress during and after his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers and hoped to achieve something similar at Stamford Bridge.
McEachran said while speaking to reporters:
“Jack is one of the best young players in the world and, hopefully, I can do what he's done.
I have always kept an eye on what he's been doing, from his loan spell at Bolton to playing for Arsenal and England last season.”
The Blues youngster felt his playing style was similar to that of Wilshere’s, which is why he was confident he would be able to flourish with a little first team experience. Despite both the players being in the England under-21 international squad, they have yet to feature together, but McEachran admitted he kept in touch with the Arsenal midfielder.
McEachran continued:
“We've got similar abilities but Jack is a year ahead of me and I'm happy with the progress I'm making.
I haven't played with Jack for the England U-21s yet but I speak to him quite a lot and we text each other regularly.”
The 18-year-old revealed he was willing to spend some time away on a loan move if it meant him playing regular football. McEachran is aware he does not stand too much of a chance at regular football at Stamford Bridge, having to compete with senior players for a place in the starting XI. Since making his debut for the Blues, McEachran has gone on to make just 17 appearances in all competitions.
The Chelsea midfielder said:
“I just want to play more minutes, even if it means going out on loan.”
