Chelsea midfielder Yuri Zhirkov hints at Blues exit – Premier League Update
Chelsea midfielder and Russian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuri-Zhirkov-c37683 has gone on to hint that he might soon be on his way out of the Stamford Bridge. After failing to find a regular spot in the Chelsea starting eleven, the player seems destined to make a move back
to Russia, before the start of the coming season.
Since being signed in 2009, the player has gone on to make a mere twenty two appearances for the Blues. That statistic, by all means is bound to leave a player, who possesses Zhirkov’s calibre, rather frustrated.
When talking about his future and the possibility of a move away from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, the player is quoted to have said:“Well, such a possibility shouldn’t be excluded"
“I have no particular proposals. And in general, there’s no point in talking about that yet.”
The player then went on to admit that it wasn’t his preference to leave the club, however, in order for him to rekindle his career as a player, that might be the only option that he has left now.
He added: “I am a player of Chelsea FC and I speak about my possible return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 only because of my strong desire to be on the field. Unfortunately, I did not have enough playing practice at Chelsea.
“I just want to play football, not sit on the bench, that’s why the thoughts about a return occur to me. Now I can’t add anything to this. We’ll see how where it all comes in the end."
“I just want to play football, not sit on the bench, that’s why the thoughts about a return occur to me. Now I can’t add anything to this. We’ll see how where it all comes in the end."
Hearing these comments from Zhirkov, has caused no major shock at Stamford Bridge, or in the footballing world in general. This is because, Zhirkov’s departure from Chelsea, if anything, has been a long time coming. The player is nearing his thirties and
if he doesn’t manage to get back on the pitch sooner, rather than later, he might just have to call it quits on a very miserable last couple of seasons as a footballer.
On the other hand, should the player return to the Russian league, he could get back to running around and getting in a couple of great performances, before ultimately hanging up his shoes for good.
No bids have been made for the player as yet, but, following his comments, all of that is bound to change in the near future.
