According to Porto president Pinto da Costa, English Premier League giants Chelsea will need €85 million to acquire Hulk’s services.
The Selecao star has become one of Europe’s most wanted players after putting in some scintillating displays during FC Porto’s capture of the quadruple.
Hulk scored 36 goals in all competitions and helped his side conquer the UEFA Europa League alongside the Primeira Liga. His exploits on the continental stage as well as Europe did not unnoticed and according to reports, many elite sides have expressed interest
in signing him.
However financial reasons have thwarted most clubs, as the player has a buyout clause of €85 million and the Portistas’ have refused to negotiate on that amount.
With the kind of financial muscle needed to lure him, only a handful of clubs are in contention for his signature amongst those are Chelsea, Anzhi Makhachkala, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
While City and PSG haven’t made the headlines as potential destinations for the talented Brazilian, English side Chelsea are hot favourites, especially after coach Andre Villas-Boas reiterated that there was room for a player like him at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to reporters, the official said that he would not allow the front-man to leave unless the Blues were willing to match his evaluation of the player.
"I've said it before, we would not sell Hulk and therefore Chelsea must activate his contract.”
