Chelsea offer a €55 million deal for Joao Moutinho and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-Pereira-c5297 – Liga Sagres News
English Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly offered a whopping €55 million deal to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 for the services of their star midfielder Joao Moutinho and left-back Alvaro Pereira, with the aim of landing their targets in the upcoming weeks.
Ever since the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas from FC Porto to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have been linked with a plethora of his old players. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 and Hulk were obvious choices but the two decided not to join their former coach due to different reasons.
Falcao completed a €47 million move to Atletico Madrid while his strike-partner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436, chose to stay on at Estadio do Dragao.
With the undoubted stars out of the picture, the Blues have reportedly stepped up their interest in midfielder Joao Moutinho and defender Alvaro Pereira. Moutinho in particular is highly demanded, especially after the injury to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Essien-c25294.
The Ghanaian has been the foundation on which the Londoners relied for their victories but he continued his injury woes with yet another torn knee ligament suffered in training. Essien is thought to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines and is unlikely to
take part in any footballing activities until the start of the New Year.
As his replacement, Villas-Boas has target Seleccao International, Joao Moutinho, who possess the characteristics to emulate the performances of the injured midfield enforcer.
Alvaro Pereira is another Portista player on the radar of Chelsea alongside other major European clubs. The Uruguayan shot to prominence after an impressive campaign in the Copa America as well on the domestic front. Being an attacking left-back, Pereira
has also scored a number of goals, which has further enhanced his reputation as one the game’s elite.
Paris Saint-Germain are also in the hunt for the 25-year-old but it is understood that he would prefer the English Premier League if a proposal did indeed present itself. Pereira is especially keen on joining Chelsea as he is touted as the long-term solution
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809, who is nearing the end of his glittering career.
While both Moutinho and Pereira would have no complaints in reuniting with their former manager at a top club, their current employers, Porto, see them as an integral part of their plans and are reluctant to sell them for anything less than €40 million and
€30 million respectively.
However, given that the Dragons are never going to be able to receive a princely sum like that for the duo, their resolve could be tested with Chelsea’s latest bid.
Roman Abramovich is supposedly ready to break the bank once again and is preparing a mouth-watering €55 million to lure Joao Moutinhoand Alvaro Pereira to London. But given the Dragao’s unwillingness to do business, it looks like this might be another protracted
transfer saga.
