English Premier League side Chelsea have said goodbye to two players after their contracts with the club expired; http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salomon-Kalou-c32266 and Jose Bosingwa.
The duo are now officially free agents after they let their contracts with the Blues run out, they have left Stamford Bridge but have not yet joined another team. Kalou and Bosingwa are both expected to decide their future before the end of the summer transfer
window.
Kalou, the 26-year-old Ivory Coast striker, joined Chelsea in the summer of 2006 for an undisclosed fee from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 on a long term contract. In his first season the Ivorian went on to make 57 appearances in all competitions with nine goals and ten assists.
The striker retained his form into the next season, scoring against top teams and collected the most number of offsides in a season with 30 in 107 games in the Premier League. That showed his lack of ability to read the game because of which he was not used
regularly under manager Luiz Felipe Scolari in the 2008-2009 season.
The striker did well in the 2009-2010 season, making 36 appearances and scoring 12 goals, helping the side to the English Premier League title. He was somewhat pushed out of favour with the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 in the 2010-2011 season.
Meanwhile, defender Jose Bosingwa joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in the summer of 2008 for a reported fee of 16.3 million pounds on a three year deal. He went on to make his debut against Portsmouth in the Premier League and just a month later featured for
the Blues in the Champions League.
Just a year later, in 2009, Bosingwa was linked with a move to Bayern Munich with the club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge attempting to sign the player. However, the Portuguese defender decided to remain with the Blues, snubbing the German side.
Bosingwa has gone on to make 125 appearances in all competitions, with three goals and 10 assists in his four years at Stamford Bridge. The pair leaves behind well wishing fans and memorable moments for the supporters from their time at the club.
