Chelsea planning a bid for Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos
English Premier League champions Chelsea are preparing a £25million bid for Real Madrid right-back Sergio Ramos, according to reports coming out of Spain.
Ramos has been unhappy with previous manager Manuel Pellegrini’s decision to play him at centre-back instead of his favoured position as a right full-back. Pellegrini has now been replaced by José Mourinho at the Bernabeu, but with reports circulating that Inter Milan right-back Maicon could be following his former coach through the entrance door at Real, Ramos may find his opportunities limited.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to add a full-back to his ranks who offers more attacking options and with Ramos reportedly becoming surplus to requirements, the Italian may move in for the Spanish international.
Meanwhile in North London, both David Bentley and Jermaine Jenas could be on their way out of Tottenham, after reports have suggested that Aston Villa are planning a £15m raid for the two. But Villa could face competition from Stoke City, as Tony Pulis is keen to strengthen his midfield following Liam Lawrence’s move to Celtic.
