Chelsea to bid £40 million for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422
Recent reports reveal Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is determined to land Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale and is willing to spend as much as £40 million on the 21-year-old. Bale’s claim to fame were his recent performances in the UEFA Champions League
against Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan, where he played a big role in eliminating the Serie A sides from the European competition.
The Russian billionaire feels his side could use a creative player like Bale and has apparently already given the orders to prepare a massive £40 million bid for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 international at the end of the season, during the summer transfer window. The proposed
bid is just £10 million short for what the Blues paid for former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 in the January transfer window.
With a sum so large, it will be hard for Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp to reject the offer. Even though he has previously claimed he will not be willing to sell the 21-year-old left-back c*m winger, he might just consider it if the right price is
offered. Bale recently signed an improved and extended contract with the Spurs with which he earns £60,000-a-week, a sum Chelsea can easily match.
With four games remaining in the season, Chelsea are currently second on the English Premier League table. This means the Blues are guaranteed Champions League football next season, the Spurs are currently fifth and could lose out on the chance to play in
the European competition next season if they fail to make it to the top four soon.
Bale has revealed his desire to play in the Champions League and it could very well be this desire that convinces the Welshman to leave the Spurs for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. With most of their players either set to retire or leave, the Blues are in dire need to reinforcements
in the summer. Bale would fit very well on the left flank, playing either as a defender or a winger.
Guus Hiddink the next sporting director at Stamford Bridge?
Former Chelsea coach and current Turkey national side manager Guus Hiddink has been offered the role of the sporting director at Chelsea. Sources reveal the Blues are among the many sides to offer the Dutchman a role, with Ajax and PSV Eindhoven also waiting
on Hiddink. The Dutch manager was previously offered a job as the manager at Stamford Bridge after rumors of current coach Carlo Ancelotti being sacked at the end of the season, however he refused.
A source revealed, “Hiddink has been approached by Chelsea, Ajax and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026 get on. At his age his ambitions are focused
on a more technical role. He doesn’t fancy being a club manager again. If he goes anywhere, it would be for at least two or three seasons to develop something.”
The 63-year-old‘s agent revealed his client intended to honor his contract, according to which he couldn’t take charge of a club while he was managing the Turkey national team. Even though Abramovich, who is a close acquaintance of Hiddink, tried his best
to convince the Dutch manager to take over his side once again, it does not seem a possibility. Therefore Abramovich has decided to offer Hiddink the position as the Sporting Director.
