Chelsea set to bid £33million for Real Madrid right-back Sergio Ramos
The English Premier League champions Chelsea are back to old spending habits, with rumour suggesting that the club is on the verge of making a massive £33million bid for Real Madrid right-back Sergio Ramos.
It has been reported in Spanish paper Marca, that the owner of Chelsea Roman Abramovich, is ready to offer Ramos a huge five-year contract worth an estimated £8million per season.
Ramos was a crucial player to Spain’s success in the World Cup, and according to a special evaluation system was the most influential and affective player of the tournament.
The 24-year-old is a very enthusiastic player who obtains a number of qualities such as great pace and power, tough to beat at the back, good in the air, comfortable on the ball, and a player who is never shy of a challenge and continues to press forward at any given opportunity, creating great chances for his side.
The question is whether he will want to leave Real Madrid after the arrival of Jose Mourinho, a manager who promises big things and normally tends to deliver.
