Chelsea sign Chivas Guadalajara attacking midfielder Ulises Davila on five year deal
English Premier League giants Chelsea have officially announced signing Ulises Davila, the 20-year-old Mexican playmaker from Chivas Guadalajara. Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas adds the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mexico-c2956 under-20 international to his other young signings in the
summer transfer window, which include http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672, Thibaut Courtois and Juan Mata.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 manager announced he was satisfied with the existing squad at Stamford Bridge, but has gone on to sign younger players. While those players might not necessarily be guaranteed first team football this season, it shows Villas-Boas is clearly
thinking about the future and is in the process of building a strong team for the upcoming seasons.
The Mexican attacking midfielder has signed a long-term five year contract with the Blues and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 technical director, revealed that the London club were pleased with having secured the talented Davila. He said that the Blues had
been eyeing the player for a while and were glad to finally sign him on a long-term contract.
Emenalo said while speaking to the club’s official website:
“Ulises has been a highly-scouted player by a lot of clubs, and has made great progress in the last couple of tournaments we have seen him play in.
We are delighted to have been able to get this deal done.”
Davila began his senior career with Chivas http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 to claim the Manchester
United Premier Cup “Generation 1991”. He made a total of 21 appearances in the League for the senior team, but did not find the back of the net.
He now joins the Blues, just two days before the deadline day of the summer transfer window. Emenalo said he believed Davila’s former club Chivas Guadalajara had established a reputation for developing young players. He said he was confident the two clubs
could continue their relationship in the future and hoped Davila would soon establish himself as a first team player.
He continued:
“Chivas is a superb club with a strong reputation in player development and world football, and we are confident Ulises will be able to continue his fast development to become an important Chelsea first-team player.”
