The newest Chelsea signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 has revealed he snubbed Manchester United to join UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 international announced on his official Twitter his decision to join the Blues and was confirmed as a Blues player on Monday. The 32 million pounds signing was previously linked with the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City, but chose
the London side instead.
Hazard admitted he had been in advanced talks with Manchester United and Chelsea, before he decided he wanted to join http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. According to the 21-year-old it was the Blues’ win in the European competition that had him convinced that Chelsea was the club
for him.
Hazard revealed in an interview:
“I've always said I wanted to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. There was a struggle between Chelsea and United, but according to me Chelsea has the best project.
I was in advanced contact with both clubs and I spoke to both coaches. I want to be playing in the Champions League every year.”
The former Lille playmaker revealed he believed the Blues had a better project as compared to rivals Manchester United, which is why he was certain he would fit in better with them. They had proven themselves with the UEFA Champions League win and had a
fresh squad.
Having been previously linked with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, Hazard revealed he had not wanted a move to either side since securing a place in the starting XI would have been tougher with the Spanish sides.
He said:
“At 21, Real Madrid or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 would have been more difficult for me. If I play well enough at Chelsea, I could win my place in the starting team and my priority is to play.”
Speaking to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich also played a  big role in his decision to join Chelsea. Hazard was convinced by the Russian billionaire that the London club would suit him best and that they were highly ambitious in terms of trying to acquire
trophies.
Hazard continued:
“I spoke with Abramovich, he is very simple and loves football. We were on the same wavelength, he wants to confirm Chelsea's position at the top.”
