Chelsea skipper John Terry offers Liverpool striker Andy Carroll advice
England and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello made some comments about the former Newcastle United forward’s habits.
Among other things, the Italian manager claimed the Englishman needed to “drink less than others” if he hoped to build a successful career. In wake of Capello’s comments, Terry offered his advice to Carroll, who has often found himself in the news for the
wrong reasons.
The Blues defender felt the young striker could learn from his mistakes, which would help him avoid similar situations in the future. Terry has had his fair share of controversies regarding his personal life and felt a professional footballer could do without
the negative media attention.
Terry, at 30 years old, knows what he is talking about and urged the Reds January transfer window signing to make the right decisions. He admitted that young football players often made the wrong choices, but he hoped Carroll would learn before it was late.
Terry said while speaking to reporters:
“He's a young player who's at a very good club with a really good future.
He has still got to enjoy his time away from football. I'm sure he will.”
He continued:
“He's a really good pro on the pitch and good around the camp. I've made my mistakes, maybe drunk a little bit too much when I was younger and gone out a little bit too much.
But, having gone through that, at 26 or 27 you maybe look back and are glad you did it then because you don't want to do it now.”
Carroll has a terrible discipline record, having been involved in many off-pitch incidents as early as September 2008. While still at Newcastle United, he was arrested after a fight in a nightclub after he was accused of smashing glass in a man’s face.
Apart from other assault charges, Carroll was involved in a row with Newcastle United teammate Steven Taylor during training. The Liverpool forward suffered broken hand, while Taylor had a broken jaw after the incident which was played down by then Newcastle
