Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti on the other hand was sacked following a highly disappointing and unsatisfactory season.
The Villains and Chelsea are now in search for replacements and a host of managers have already been linked with the empty posts.
Previously the likes of Guus Hiddink, Jose Mourinho, Andres Villas Boas, Marco van Basten, Harry Redknapp and Pep Guardiola were linked with the Chelsea http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
Mark Hughes joins the above mentioned men to become the recent manager to be linked with a move to the London club.
Chelsea http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 John Terry revealed he felt that the club would be wise to consider Mark Hughes for the manager’s post.
Terry admitted he would prefer the former Manchester City boss to take over as the Blues manager in the summer.
Terry said in an interview:
“Mark Hughes would have the qualities, I think he has shown that for sure, (he is) someone the club will hopefully be talking to.
I know Mark and his background staff. The understanding of the club and what it means to the supporters will come naturally to those guys.
If he is linked in, it will be welcome to the players.”
The Welshman is a former Chelsea player, having played as a striker at the London club from 1995 to 1998.

He started his managerial career with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385.
He then went on to manage Manchester City for one season and recently resigned as the Fulham manager, again after just one season.
According to the Chelsea centre back, Hughes would be a decent option when considering the next Blues manager.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international revealed he ultimately wished to manage the club himself, but admitted that was more of a long-term plan.
Terry said:
“That is the ultimate aim of course. I'm doing my coaching badges at the moment.
But that is a long, long way away. I'll leave it to the rest of the guys out there at the moment.”
The defender began his senior career at the London club in 1998 and has been with the Blues for 14 seasons now.
He is arguably the most successful captain the Blues have had, having led them to three English Premier League titles and FA Cup trophies, along with two Carling Cup and Community Shields.
