Daniel Sturridge, the 21-year-old Chelsea striker, revealed he was enjoying himself at Stamford Bridge under new manager Andre Villas-Boas. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 exit if he was not given regular first team
playing opportunities in the upcoming season, but after the pre-season tour of Asia seems to have changed his mind about leaving.
Sturridge played a major role in Chelsea’s pre-season tour, making regular appearances as the Blues won all their fixtures without conceding a single goal. The London side eventually made it to the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy against Premier League
rivals Aston Villa, which they went on to win 2-0 thanks to goals by Josh McEachran and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707.
Like Sturridge, most of the Chelsea players have flourished under the young Portuguese manager. This has given the England under-21 international faith that he can stay with the London side and fight for his place in the starting XI in the upcoming season.

However, his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers has convinced him he can go on to cement his place as a regular starter in any side. Sturridge made 12 appearances for Bolton in the latter half of last season and went on to score an impressive 8 goals. He was
initially loaned out to make room for new arrival Torres and then manager Carlo Ancelotti believed the youngster would benefit from a spell with another side.
After Torres’ failure to find the back of the net and Sturridge’s impressive form for Bolton Wanderers, Villas-Boas seems to have decided that having the youngster at Stamford Bridge would benefit both the club and the player. Villas-Boas’ attacking policy
has been an instant success with the Chelsea squad, as they produced fantastic results on their pre-season tour.
Sturridge said while speaking to reporters:
“The manager has given me license to express myself. I have never had that before with any manager.
He has let me off my leash if you like.
He has given me a lot more freedom than I have ever had, and I will enjoy my football a lot more.”
Sturridge continued:
“It is not just me either; everyone feels like that.
He wants us to attack and not be too defensive. This is refreshing.
The tour [of Asia] has been great. The manager has shown faith in me.”
Sturridge revealed he was looking forward to the new season, where he hoped to play regular football under Villas-Boas. He also said he had been flattered by the trust the new manager had placed in him and he said he hoped to deliver in the upcoming campaign.
