Drogba involved in after match spat
Chelsea hit-man http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 was involved in another after match incident, this time with a Chelsea supporter after the 1-1 draw against Stoke City on Saturday. The Blues traveled to Britannia stadium in a must-win fixture but ended up with only one point
as the title slipped further out of their reach.
The home side took the lead early on in the eighth minute and Chelsea were left chasing the game once again. When everyone else proved to be helpless, Drogba was the hero once again as his header ended up in the back of the net to give his side a crucial
equalizer.
For the rest of the match, the Ivory Coast international was arguably the best player for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 but failed to find another goal. It was because of his inability to do so that the Chelsea supporters showed their frustrations, an act that eventually led
to Drogba reacting.
The 33-year-old was understandably frustrated by the end of the match and the situation with the unhappy fans did not help. The Blues striker ended up confronting a fan and in the end had to be dragged away by teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-Ferreira-c29445.
A source close to the club revealed, “Didier wasn't happy at the accusation and wanted to make his point. It just shows how much he cares for the club. He knows the fans have the right to their say but he felt it was going over the top, especially with the
effort everybody had put in to try to win the game.”
The draw at Stoke, with league leaders Manchester United winning their fixture against West Ham United, means Chelsea now have no chance of retaining the Premier League crown. The Blues are at third place on the table, 11 points behind Manchester United.
Drogba to MLS?
After the arrival of former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 in the January transfer window, the departure of Didier Drogba seems inevitable. The Ivorian, who has spent the last seven years of his career at Stamford Bridge, could be leaving at the end of
the season.
Drogba has mostly been linked with a move to Real Madrid where he would be reunited with Jose Mourinho. However, it has recently emerged that the Chelsea striker is considering making a move to the Major League Soccer.
If he does go through with the move to the USA, he will be joining the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918. The MLS directors have reportedly been keeping an eye on the Ivory Coast striker after reports that he was unhappy at the London club.
Drogba has also reported to have met with Henry, the former Arsenal striker, over a possible move to the MLS. The Frenchman has encouraged the move and it could be a possibility if a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid or former Ligue 1 side Marseille does
not go through.
