Chelsea striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has admitted he is extremely grateful for all the support the fans have offered during the period he has underperformed for the Blues.
The current January transfer window marked Torres’ one year anniversary at Stamford Bridge but the Spaniard has not managed to score too many goals during his time with the London side. That has earned him criticism and he has been dubbed as a flop.
However, the fans have retained their support and for that Torres is extremely grateful. The 27-year-old felt the only thing that has kept him going at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 is the supporters who have stuck to him through thick and thin and have chanted his name even
when he was on the bench.
Torres said while speaking to reporters:
“I would like things to be much better but the support they give me every day is amazing. I remember a game against Wolverhampton and I was on the bench, and they were still singing my name.”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international revealed his greatest memory of his footballing career had been when the fans had chanted his name during the clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers when he had not even been playing. According to Torres that was a memory he would
cherish for the rest of his life.
He revealed:
“At the beginning of the season, I went through a hard moment, I was not playing, things were wrong and I was eight games without playing - I had never been in this situation before.
The only thing that gave me hope was the support of the people.”
It was against Manchester United that Torres opened his goal scoring account for the Blues at the start of the 2011-2012 season and the Spaniard was hopeful he would once again go on to score for Chelsea in the clash against the Red Devils today, Sunday
5th February.
Torres continued:
“Hopefully, this kind of thing happens once in a life, because it is so hard. I've had good games against Man U, I scored last time and hopefully we can beat them and get three more points.”
