Chelsea striker Gael Kakuta awarded with new deal
Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta has been awarded a new 4 and half year deal at the London based club.
The youngster joined Chelsea in 2007 following a row with the management of Lens but was expected to leave Chelsea by the end of the current season. Kakuta has not made a big impact since his arrival but the management believes Kakuta is one for the future.
Chelsea came under heavy fire when they signed Kakuta, as the team was handed 2 year transfer ban. The reason behind it were allegations put on Chelsea that they had forced Kakuta to break his contract with Lens. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport cleared all accusations over the Premier league Champions, stating that the deal with the French side was not valid.
Owing to various injury issues in the side along with the transfers of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Ballack-c25270 this season, Kakuta has been utilized by the Chelsea boss 9 times this season, which include three appearances in the premier league.
The manager has labelled youngsters Kakuta, Bruma and McEachran as the future stars of the club and Kakuta was delighted to sign a contract extension at the club.
"Since I signed for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 when I was 16 all I was thinking about was to get to the first team. Now I have been playing a few times with the first team and I have signed for four and a half more years, I have to make a way for myself into the starting XI and make my dream come true,” stated the youngster when signing the new deal.
Kakuta explained that Ancelotti himself would choose when the time is right for him to play and respects the manager’s opinion. Kakuta vowed to keep on training on the highest level and prove to the manager that he has what it takes to become a regular.
Kakuta has made 5 UEFA Champions league appearances so far this season and aims to be part of Chelsea’s title defence this season. The player claimed he would like to help in any way possible.
