Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has been linked with a move to Russian side Terek Grozny, after the Frenchman failed to sign a contract extension with the London side. The 32-year-old runs out of contract with the Blues at the end of this season and has so
far not signed a contract extension, which means he will be a free agent in the summer if things don’t change.
Among other sides, Terek Grozny have emerged as possible suitors for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international. The Russian side are set to battle Anzhi Makhachkala for Anelka, who does not seem to keen on a move away. Turkish side Galatasaray and MLS outfit LA Galaxy
are also considered to be possible contenders, but no official move has been made by either side.
Despite being linked to various sides, Anelka revealed he was not too keen on a move away from Stamford Bridge and insisted he wanted to remain at the club. The striker has previously been with a host of clubs, but seems to want to continue on at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
He admitted he had not made a decision regarding his future and would wait until December before he finally decided where he wanted to end his career.
Anelka said while speaking to reporters:
“I am linked everywhere but, when you are linked, it doesn't mean you want to leave. I like Chelsea and first of all wanted to stay - that's why I am still here.
I will see what happens in December and, if I am still here, I will see what happens in June.”
The striker revealed he was happy with the Premier League giants and that the decision to stay did not depend entirely on him. He said he had enjoyed his four years at the London club and was currently happy with the way things were. However, the decision
ultimately lies with Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas, who has not yet made any remarks regarding the issue.
He continued:
“I am happy here, I like the club, everyone here, and, after, I will see what happens. It is not only down to me.
I have been here almost four years now, and I am pleased with the way it has been. It could have been even better but I am still happy.”
