Sources reveal Tottenham Hotspur midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 is prepared to hand in a transfer request sometime next week.
After Harry Redknapp was sacked, a majority of the players have been linked with a move away, with Modric leading the mass exodus. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
He was initially just linked with the Blues in the last summer transfer window, with Tottenham Hotspur rejecting three bids by their London rivals. wanted to retain their key players.
However, after the Spurs failed to qualify for the Champions League because Chelsea won the European competition and took up their spot for next season, a lot of the players at White Hart Lane have been linked with an exit.
Manchester United are reportedly willing to pay 22 million pounds for Modric, while Real Madrid are expected to offer as much as 30 million pounds. Even if Chelsea offer more than either of the two sides, Spurs will most likely be unwilling to sell to the
Champions League winners.
One thing is certain though, Modric will be heading towards a White Hart Lane in the summer transfer window. The midfielder is determined to play Champions League football and he knows he will not be able to achieve his dreams of playing in the European
competition with Tottenham Hotspur.
Modric told a Spanish newspaper:
"I'm going to play in the Champions League, I want to win that competition. I'm not going to be able to achieve my dream (at Spurs)."
Modric started his football career with Dinamo Zagreb in 2002, earning a promotion to the senior team in 2003. He made 112 appearances in the League, scoring 31 goals, staying with them until 2008 with two loan moves to Zrinjski and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Zapresic in between.
The midfielder signed with Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 on a six year deal for a fee of 16.5 million pounds and was thrown into first team action in his debut season. To date he has made a total of 159 appearances for the London side in all competitions.
