Chelsea target Santos striker Neymar, Carlo Ancelotti denies talk of leaving the Blues
Chelsea target Santos striker Neymar
Chelsea are reportedly set to make an improved bid of £30 million for Santos striker Neymar da Silva during the summer. The Blues tried to lure the youngster to Stamford Bridge last summer for a price of £22 million but were denied by Santos who refused
to let the Brazilian striker go. However, Chelsea are in desperate need of players who can change things around. The arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 during the January transfer window has not done much to improve things at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are currently at fifth place on the Premier League table and were recently eliminated from the FA Cup by Everton. The defeat to Everton coupled with the fact the Blues have to fight for a top four finish could mean the end of Carlo Ancelotti’s time
at Chelsea if the Italian does not somehow manage to bring the European Cup to Stamford Bridge. However, it has been suggested Blues owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to invest in the club even if Chelsea do not make it to the top four.
Reports suggesting Chelsea’s willingness to pay £30 million for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639 and some £50 million for Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas confirm these rumors. This only puts more pressure on Ancelotti to get better results out of a squad which seems to have lost its
double winning chemistry. The arrival of Neymar, one of the most impressive young players, will undoubtedly add some much needed spark to the ageing Chelsea squad. It remains to be seen if Santos will agree to a move, with the player himself admitting he would
like a move to Stamford Bridge.
Carlo Ancelotti will not quit as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss
Carlo Ancelotti insisted he would not be quitting his position at Stamford Bridge after the disappointing and unexpected loss to Everton in the FA Cup. The Italian is considered a “dead man walking” at Stamford Bridge after his side were dumped out on penalties
by the Toffees. The Blues are not doing too well in the English Premier League either, sitting at fifth place on the table, 12 points behind Manchester United.
However, Ancelotti was confident his side still had a chance at winning the UEFA Champions League. He insisted he planned to stay with the Blues and had no intention of walking away. Ancelotti said while speaking to reporters, “No, not me. I have never quit,
resigned or walked out and I'm not in the mood to quit now. I don't have to consider my position. It is the owner that has to consider my position, not myself.”
Chelsea travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 to take on FC Copenhagen on Tuesday in the round of 16 in the Champions League. If they wish to claim any silverware this season, the European Cup is their only chance. Anything less than a win against the Danish side could possibly
mean the end of Ancelotti’s time at Chelsea. Therefore it is essential the Blues force themselves out of their slump and return to winning ways.
