English Premier League defending champions Chelsea are reportedly targeting Grzegorz Sandomierski, the 21-year-old Polish goal keeper, as a backup stopper and eventual replacement for the current number one Petr Cech.
Sandomierski made his senior debut for local side Jagiellonia Bialystok in 2006 and went on to make 45 appearances in his first season. Since then he has been on loan to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jagiellonia-Bialystok-c39592 in the 2009-2010 season.
In his second season at the club since being out on loan, the 21-year-old has managed to secure a place as the first choice goal keeper. His performances for the Poland outfit have earned him interest from many top European sides, including Chelsea.
The Blues are content with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 stopper, he has been essential in establishing them as a top side. However, the London side is determined to have reliable back up for when Cech is injured, suspended or when he retires.
Currently they have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ross-Turnbull-c31796 and Henrique Hilario, who are 26 and 35 years old respectively. Both have failed to prove themselves on various occasions and are not capable of taking over from Cech, if the first choice keeper is unavailable.
Sandomierski would be a perfect fit at Stamford Bridge, the 21-year-old resembles a younger Cech and has the potential to grow and develop. He would receive the best training and preparation at the Premier League side to make him into one of the best goal keepers.
He is already well on his way to achieving that, his last streak of maintaining a clean sheet lasted 564 minutes, which is a club record. It was his performance with Jagiellonia Bialystok that got him noticed by the national team, he made his debut in 2010.
Chelsea scouts have already reportedly been to watch the youngster at an international game, where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 will make a bid for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chelsea could be making a bid for Nuri Sahin, the 22-year-old Borussia Dortmund midifielder, in the summer. The Blues have had a disappointing season to say the least and will be determined to bring in new talent to freshen up the squad.
Sahin has been with the German outfit since he started his senior career, with a short loan spell at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 in the 2007-2008 season. Since his return though he has been essential for the club, making 33 starts, scoring 4 goals and providing 8 assists last season.
This season however, despite being consistent and getting regular starts, Sahin seems to be set on a move elsewhere. He has been linked with some clubs abroad, but Chelsea have shown the most interest so far.
The club said in an statement regarding the player and a possible move, “We have already tried to extend his deal. Unfortunately this has still not yet succeeded. If Nuri gets an offer he has every right to talk about it with us.”
