Chelsea to bid £20 million for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott
Sources reveal that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international. The news comes just a day after rumours that Chelsea were competing
against Manchester United and Manchester City for midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360.
While it seems unlikely that Chelsea will secure the services of Nasri, with the Frenchman strongly linked with a move to Manchester City along with Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy. Apart from that, the Blues are still in contention for Tottenham Hotspur 25-year-old
midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857, who is worth an estimated £45 million.
They could however, be going for the young Arsenal winger. While Walcott clearly lacks experience, he has the potential to be moulded into a top player. He already possesses the pace but needs some work on his technique. The Englishman could do well at Chelsea,
under new manager Andre Villas-Boas, who has begun his task of rebuilding the squad.
While he has not yet made any additions to the squad, he will surely do so later on in the transfer window. The Portuguese manager seems to be looking for the right time to offload players and bring in replacements, which would strengthen the squad ahead
of the new season. Having been linked with younger players, Walcott fits right in with the other targets.
Apart from that, Walcott joins many of the Arsenal players in their wish to part ways with the London club. The Gunners have failed to win silverware since 2005, which has caused many players to express their desire to leave. Walcott, along with Cesc Fabregas,
Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy look to be heading towards an Emirates Stadium exit.
Walcott desires to win trophies, like any other football player and he will be aware that he stands a solid chance of doing so at Stamford Bridge. The ambitious Blues have been serious title contenders since Roman Abramovich took over in 2003 and have managed
much more than Arsenal in recent seasons. It would come as no surprise if Walcott ended up at Chelsea during the summer.
