Chelsea to consider Real Madrid’s Kaka if Tottenham Hotspur reject third bid for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857
Sources reveal that English Premier League giants Chelsea could be making a surprise bid for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Kaka. The Blues are currently in pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric, but have had two of their bids for the 25-year-old
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international rejected. Chelsea could be making a final, improved bid of £30 million for the versatile playmaker.
Modric remains number one priority for the Blues, having done considerably well over the past three seasons at White Hart Lane. While he is not the typical goal-scoring attacking midfielder, Modric plays the role of the provider. This is exactly what Chelsea
are looking for, someone to act as a provider for misfiring striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707.
The Blues signed the Spain international from Premier League rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the January transfer window for a record breaking fee of £50 million. However, upon his arrival at the Bridge, Torres was unable to score. In fact, in his 18 appearances for
the Blues in all competitions, Torres found the back of the net just once.
Chelsea are convinced Modric would be the perfect signing for them this summer, since he could prove to be the player that can get Torres to score. Something all the existing midfielders and wingers at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 failed to do. In addition to that, the long-term
injury sustained by holding midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Essien-c25294 has convinced the Blues they need to bring reinforcements in their midfield.
Modric, who has previously shown that he can play as an attacking midfielder and a holding midfielder is thought to be the perfect option. However, securing his signature seems to be tougher than originally thought and with just a month remaining for the
transfer window, the Blues have gone on to identify other targets.
If Tottenham Hotspur reject the Blues’ third bid for Modric, Chelsea are expected to turn to the Brazilian midfielder. The 29-year-old was previously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge two years ago when Carlo Ancelotti took charge of the Blues in the
2009-2010 season. However, Kaka chose to move to the La Liga giants instead of the English Premier League side after his former manager.
The Brazilian midfielder moved to Madrid in 2009 on a long-term six year deal for an astronomical fee of £56 million, but unfortunately failed to impress in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. He picked up a knee injury during his first season and missed the latter part of the season,
making just 33 appearances in all competitions and scoring nine goals.
He had the opportunity to make a fresh start under new manager Jose Mourinho, who was pleased with the recovery of the attacking midfielder in the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. However, Kaka picked up another injury in March and was again sidelined
for a few weeks. He made 20 appearances in all competitions and scored just 7 goals.
Mourinho is reportedly looking to offload the player in the current transfer window and could settle for as much as £25 million for Kaka. While it was previously thought Kaka would return to former side AC Milan, the Serie A side have ruled out a return.
If that is indeed the case, then the Blues could consider settling for the injury prone Brazilian, who will cost them less than Modric.
