Chelsea to try and lure Fernando Torres
Chelsea have been linked with Fernando Torres on countless occasions in the past. In fact it was strongly believed at the end of last season that the Spanish World Cup winner would be on his way to the Stamford Bridge, however the move never really went
through. There were also a number of reports of Chelsea trying to go in real cheap for the player, but has their twenty five million pound offer been turned down by Liverpool.
Nonetheless, the twenty six year old striker, who has grown unusually frustrated at the club, seems to have finally had enough at Anfield. The player has refused to confirm that he will be a Liverpool player in the coming season and by the looks of it, he
might not even be wearing a red stripe at the end of the January transfer window.
Liverpool have this season, managed to take the teams poor form to a whole new level. The team managed to lose to teams like Northampton Town, which by all means is an all new low for the team, that was once considered to be the greatest team in England
and quite possibly Europe.
Along with the team performing so terribly, the players on the team have also started to deteriorate in their form and quality on the pitch. Amongst the Liverpool players who have started to perform poorly on the pitch is none other than, Torres himself.
The striker has been a mere shadow of his former self and has struggled tremendously to try and find the back of the net.
Along with that, the new owners of the team are looking to rekindle the winning ways of Liverpool and are willing to let go of anyone who isn’t performing up to par or as he should be. This is where Torres comes into the owners plans, the player performed
really poorly in the inaugural game with the new owners of the team and they were reported to have said that they were looking into the strikers form and were also contemplating his future. At the same time another team that seems to be in the works to try
and contemplate a future for the player, is Chelsea. The team has once again insisted that they could really use the player, despite the fact that he is currently performing rather terribly and is by no means the same player that he used to be.
That being said, the teams manager Carlo Ancelotti strongly feels that the Spaniard is just the player who he needs, to partner with Didier Drogba up front, to try and get Chelsea scoring the countless goals that they have become known for over the last
couple of seasons.
According to most experts, this move could prove to be highly beneficial for both the player and the club. Because despite performing so poorly Torres still has the quality in him to perform at the highest possible levels. All the player really needs right
now is a push in the right direction and that is something that he cannot get at Liverpool who themselves need someone to push them back on track. On the other hand if Torres does end up at Chelsea not only will he be amongst a team that is on top form, he
will also be amongst player who would compliment his style of play and in turn would help return to his top form.
