Chelsea transfer news: No Atletico Madrid bid, Gael Kakuta heads to rivals Fulham on loan deal
Defending champions Chelsea have denied making a £52million bid for Atletico Madrid stars http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero and Diego Godin. Sources reveal that claims by Atletico Madrid about the English Premier League giants making a bold bid for the Spanish sides two best players are not true. The club refused to comment on the claims but released an official statement which said, “We never comment on transfer speculation, no matter how wild it is.”
Even though Chelsea were previously interested in buying the 22 year old Aguero, they have not made an attempt to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge. Atletico Madrid President Gil claimed they had also rejected a £39 million offer from rivals Real Madrid, he said while speaking to reporters, “In the last week, we have received two offers. One from Real for Aguero for 45 million euros and the other from Chelsea for Aguero and Diego Godin for 60 million. Atletico have said no to the two offers because they believe in these two players.”
Meanwhile, Fulham boss Mark Hughes will be pleased to welcome Gael Kakuta, the 19 year old Chelsea star, to Craven Cottage only after a week of revealing his interest in the player. Hughes said while speaking to reporters earlier in the week, “He's a player I know and I like the qualities he has.” The French international recently signed a four and a half year contract with the Blues but has been loaned out so he can get more first team experience, something that was not guaranteed at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was considering whether to retain the midfielder or loan him out, and in the end decided the youngster would benefit from a move away. The Italian manager said, “We are thinking about if it's good for a young player to have experience on loan for six months.” It seems like Ancelotti made the right decision, the Frenchman has only made 16 appearances for the club with five starts. It does not seem right to use one of the brightest prospects in Europe as a bench warmer and he will undoubtedly be better off with Fulham.
