Chelsea transfer rumours, Chelsea transfer news

Despite becoming Premier League champions in May it seems the exit door at Stamford Bridge is currently busier than the entrance.

Joe Cole has already expressed his decision to move on from west-London, as has Portuguese international Deco, and if reports are correct, Ashley Cole, is ready to follow the two star midfielders out of the door.

The Chelsea left-back has had an uncomfortable season off the pitch, with stories about his failed marriage with Cheryl Cole hitting the front pages. He has also been seen as a scapegoat for many disgruntled England fans for his outbursts about how much money he thinks he’s worth and his questionable decision to openly admit club football comes before international matches.

A move away from the British shores could be in the best interests of the 29-year-old who is coming to a time in his career where he may not get many more chances to play for a top side in Spain or Italy.

Real Madrid are reportedly leading the chase, with Cole’s former coach Jose Mourinho a keen admirer of the full-back. The Spanish club are understood to have made a £25million bid for the England defender before the World Cup and are now ready to step up their efforts.

Chelsea continue to insist they are not interested in selling a player who they regard to be the best left-back in the world, however they may not have a say in the matter if Cole decides that the constant negative media attention is getting too much for him.

With the World Cup currently in session, it has proved impossible to negotiate with players from the top countries and because of that Chelsea have been very quiet on the transfer front.

But as the month progresses don’t be surprised if Chelsea moves for some big-name players, including the likes of Argentinean international Sergio Aguero, Real Madrid right-back Sergio Ramos and Brazilian full-back Maicon.
