Chelsea took on Newcastle United at home, as the team looked continue their winning ways. The team had already managed to win their opening games this season and looked to follow that trend against Newcastle.
The match kicked off with neither team really getting a hold of the game, but after the opening ten minutes, Chelsea slowly started to dominate the proceedings in the game.

In the second half, the game quieted down quite a bit, with Chelsea looking to maintain their lead in the game.
Newcastle went on to create a few chances, but all their efforts failed to result into ones that ended in goals.
In the 84th minute, Newcastle had their best chance of the game, as a cross was played into Ba’s feet. The striker tried to volley the ball but ended up seeing the ball get stuck in his feet.
He then had the chance to smash the ball home, but opted to side foot it. The time that the striker spent deciding what to do, allowed Cech to claim the ball with ease and resulted in another wasted opportunity for the visitors.
