Chelsea vs. Swansea City preview, English Premier League
Chelsea take on newly promoted side Swansea City at Stamford Bridge after a 4-3 win over Fulham in the Carling Cup competition on penalties in mid-week. Swansea City will be travelling to the London side after defeating West Bromwich Albion 3-0 last weekend in the English Premier League and will be hoping to repeat their success against the Premier League giants.

While Rogers, who has previously worked under Jose Mourinho as a youth and reserve team manager at Chelsea, admitted that Torres was not in the best of forms, he expected the striker to improve. The Swansea City manager said he had caught glimpses of the old Torres against Manchester United and felt the former Liverpool striker was finally adapting to his new club.
Rogers said in an interview:
“He has had a tough time with injuries, he is adapting to a new team, but there is no hiding the fact that he is a world class striker and he will return to that form.”
Rogers felt the same way about Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, the 33-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 because they were 30 plus. He revealed the English midfielder was amongst the few midfielders who had consistently been scoring goals over the past few seasons.
He continued:
“Look at what Frank has done regularly over the last seven or eight years. I think he is third or fourth on the all-time scoring charts at Chelsea, as a midfielder.
He has an in-built brain for football, to arrive in the box to score goals.”
The former Championship boss was aware his side faced a tougher challenge than they had against West Bromwich Albion last week. Rogers said that while there were some top players at the London club, he had faith in his squad and was certain they would be able to take on Chelsea over the weekend. After an unexpectedly decent start to the Premier League, Swansea City look set to take on the Blues.
Rogers revealed:
“We know the task will be difficult. We know we are up against some world class players, but we have a great belief wherever we play that we can cause a problem.
We have shown we can compete and we will look to bring the same idea to Stamford Bridge.”

That along with the fact that the Spaniard was rested in mid-week for the Carling Cup clash against Fulham.

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044, the 33-year-old striker, is expected to return to the starting line-up after finding himself on the bench against Fulham.

Scott Sinclair, Leroy Lita and Nathan Dyer could be rewarded this weekend with a start against Chelsea after scoring against West Bromwich Albion in their last English Premier League fixture. So far Swansea City do not have any recent injuries.
Steven Caulker is out with a knee injury, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Graham are also expected to miss the trip to Chelsea with an ankle and back injury respectively.
Ashley Williams, Garry Monk and Angel Rangel are confirmed for a start at Stamford Bridge, but Neil Taylor is currently awaiting a late fitness test to determine if he will feature for his side. If Taylor is not declared fit than he most likely be replaced by Fede Bessone.
