Chelsea face a tough fixture against Newcastle United, warns Alan Pardew – EPL News
Newcastle United boss, Alan Pardew, has set his target on securing a win in the upcoming Barclays Premier League tie against Chelsea, and has warned Villa-Boas’ men to prepare themselves for a tough fixture against the Magpies at Sports Direct Arena.
Alan Pardew’s men have been a revelation in the Barclays Premier League this season. Newcastle United went unbeaten in their first 11 league fixtures, registering seven wins and four draws. However, the Toons’ impressive run of form was halted by the current
league leaders, Manchester City, as Newcastle United suffered their first and only defeat of the season at the Etihad Stadium.
The Magpies recently secured a hard fought draw against the Barclays Premier League champions, Manchester United, at Old Trafford and in doing so, became only the second side in the league to secure a point away against Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.
Newcastle United are set to welcome http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, and Pardew has warned the Blues that they will have to work their socks off in order to get a positive result at the Sports Direct Arena.
The Magpies manager has asserted that his side is fully prepared to face Chelsea and has claimed that home fans will make it difficult for the visitors.
Pardew said in an interview:
"We have one of the big clubs coming to us and they will be fearing coming to us in front of 52,000 Geordies. We've set up ourselves up for Chelsea.”
The Toons’ boss has also hailed Newcastle United’s performance against Manchester United as he believes that earning a draw at Old Trafford was a terrific result for his side.
"It's not easy to go to Man United and win. Getting a point is magnificent. The attitude we had towards the game was positive and we tried to go there and win. We were fabulous. We were kicking toward the Stretford End and tried to unsettle them by giving
them problems - and we did. I thought we were terrific,” Alan Pardew concluded.
With the 1-1 draw against Manchester United, Newcastle United are currently placed fourth in the league standings, having recorded 26 points in 13 games.
