Chelsea winger Juan Mata revealed he was certain teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 would return to his goal scoring ways after the disappointing 1-1 draw with Fulham.
Andre Villas-Boas decided to start with Torres and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 against Fulham in the Boxing Day clash but the Spaniard failed to find the back of the net once again. His latest match means that the 27-year-old has now been unable to score in his last
ten fixtures.
Despite the early failed attempts, Villas-Boas retained his confidence in Torres and did not take him off throughout the game. Instead he made the choice of taking Sturridge off and bringing on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 instead.
However, this was not enough to build Torres’ shattered confidence and even though he assisted Juan Mata in the opening goal, he himself was unable to find the back of the net. The draw against Fulham at Stamford Bridge means the Blues have dropped more
points and now find themselves behind in the title race.
His http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 teammate, Mata however, felt differently. He was certain Torres would soon improve his form and would once again start scoring goals for the Blues. He revealed how the striker had been practising hard in training.
Mata said while speaking to reporters:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-c13609 is working hard every day in training and, for sure, the goal arrives soon. Fernando always has the goals and, for sure, for Chelsea he has to score a lot of goals.”
Mata revealed the Blues had to fight if they wished to remain in the title race. They take on Aston Villa in their next English Premier League fixture and the Spaniard revealed his side were aiming for all three points against the Villains.
Mata continued:
“It is going to be very difficult because there are lot of teams and they are having very good seasons, like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, so we have to fight.
Our next game is another that we have to win but Aston Villa is a very good team.
We wanted to achieve the six points in our two home games but against Fulham we got one, and we hope to win three points against Aston Villa.”
