Chelsea’s Alex could go to Bayern Munich as Jerome Boateng Alternative – Bundesliga News
German Bundesliga side, Bayern Munich, have revealed their interest in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 defender, Alex, but only if Jerome Boateng is unable to land at the Allianz-Arena this summer. The Manchester City man is very strongly linked with the Bundesliga giants and the
player has already agreed terms with the Munich-based club.
Bayern’s interest in Alex came just a day after Boateng agreed on a four-year deal with the Bavarians. The defender currently is stuck in the middle as both clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee and Bayern have already started looking for alternatives.
It is reported that the German giants made a 10 million Euros bid for the centre-back which was promptly rejected by the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Citizen-c38808 officials, demanding 20 Million Euros in return.
Bayern’s President, Uli Hoeness, mentioned that the club doesn’t intend to spend that much and would consider bringing Alex to Allianz-Arena if City doesn’t agree upon the bid. Alex also plays in the central position where Boateng plays and could be the
most likely alternate to former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 player.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c40446. Alex has managed only 83 league appearances to date for the Blues, netting seven goals in process. During his time with Chelsea, the Brazilian
spent a three-year loan period with the Eredivisie giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 ever since he made his debut in 2003.
The Defender’s contract with the Blues would expire in June 2013, but it is highly unlikely that the Brazilian would be the first choice in the presence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 and Braislav Ivanovic. In this situation, the 28-year-old would be better off
leaving Chelsea in favour of Bayern Munich, where he could even get a chance to appear in the club’s starting XI.
The Brazilian’s future either one way or the other, would be decided in a few days time.
