Chelsea’s David Luiz and Petr Cech confident of defending English Premier League title
Chelsea defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 are confident that the Blues can still win the English Premier League title and UEFA Champions League in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
David Luiz, who helped Chelsea in beating Manchester City at the weekend, believes that his team can topple the Red Devils to secure both titles.
“We want to do everything this season. We want to catch United in the Premier League and beat them in the Champions League. We have to believe – we can win the title. There are still many games and a lot of points to play for,” Luiz said.
Luiz joined Chelsea from Benfica in the January transfer window in 2011 and after having played European football with the Portuguese side this season, the defender is ineligible to participate in this season’s Champions League.
He is disappointed not to be part of the Champions League playing team but he feels part of the squad and wants to enjoy in the success of his teammates.
On the other hand, Petr Cech feels that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 will benefit from Manchester United’s hectic schedule and it will help the Blues retain their league title.
“Manchester must spread energy into three competitions because apart from the Premier League they are still in the FA Cup and in the Champions League quarter-final against us,” said Cech. “They have got a lot of injured players and some are suspended. Anyway,
we must keep winning and hope they drop points along the way.”

Chelsea will meet Manchester United three times in space of one month, twice in the Champions League in April 2011 followed by a Premier League encounter at the Old Trafford in May.
Chelsea drift United by 9 points in the League and the Blues fate of winning any title in the season depends on how they perform in these three fixtures.
