http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s Fernando Torres hails Rafa Benitez – Football News
Chelsea forward and Spanish international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has gone on to hail Rafa Benitez and has admitted that the interim manager did brilliantly for the club.
The Blues seemed to be in a rather odd situation earlier in the season, which saw them finding it hard to make it to the top four. At the same time, they were knocked out of the Champions League and found themselves
in the Europa League.
Rafa Benitez was brought in to try and turn things around. Initially, he was met by a lot of harsh criticism but following the end of the season, most of the players and fans have gone on to hail his work.
Torres, when talking about Benitez is quoted to have said, "[Benitez] helped to give the team confidence back after a difficult period in November," Torres told the club's official website.
"Especially in the last couple of months the team has shown more character and as a team we have performed much better than in the beginning of the season when maybe individuality was the key for us.”
He then went on to add, "The only thing he wanted to do [was] his best and to try to help Chelsea to come back from a difficult situation, and credit to the players as well because it is not easy to play so many
games in a season.”
Benitez went on to do two amazing things with the club. The first thing that he did, was the helped in guiding the team all the way to the finals of the Europa League and this was followed by assisting the team
securing a top-three finish.
Another great thing that Benitez did was that he helped the team perform as a unit. He didn’t rely solely on individual talent to guide the team through but he made sure everyone performed to the best of their
abilities.
Nonetheless, the Blues new boss is going to have to do a lot of work to be able to maintain the standards that the interim manager has set at the club.
