Chelsea striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has revealed he is looking to impress against South Korea in the upcoming fixture after success with the Blues.
Since joining the London club, Torres has not had success and is still considered somewhat of a flop. It was against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final that he was not even in the starting XI, nor was he selected to take a penalty in the penalty
shoot-out.
Even though he complained initially, Torres now realizes now the advantages of playing fewer games throughout the season. His lack of participation for Chelsea will ensure a spirited return for Spain in the upcoming European Championships.
He revealed he felt fresh as he did not feel strained after a tough season, unlike his teammates. Torres admitted he would have preferred more of a role with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 but said he was now looking forward to helping his side succeed in the European Championships.
Torres said while speaking to reporters:
“Physically I feel very good and fresh because I haven't had the drain of so many games as my team-mates. I'm hopeful of showing my best to the team. It's true I would have liked to have played more with Chelsea to be in better playing shape.”
Spain are scheduled to take on South Korea in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Álvaro-Negredo-c5294.
The 28-year-old was aware that he had not been in the best of forms for both club and country in the past, especially during the 2010 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757, but had decided to put it all behind him.
He revealed:
“All players have dreams, but sometimes they are met in a way that we do not expect. I wish I had more presence in the national team.
My injury at the World Cup stopped me from doing better, but the important thing is that eventually everything will go well. I will keep going until the end and hope we are European champions again.”
