Chelsea’s Florent Malouda aiming to end season with four-game winning streak: EPL News
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 winger Florent Malouda has claimed that the only way his side can manage to retain their Barclays Premier League crown is if they win every one of their remaining games of the season. However, the Frenchman has admitted that even if the Blues were
able to produce such a winning streak, it would still not guarantee that the title would be theirs.
Despite enduring their worst run of form in more than a decade this season, Chelsea have somehow clawed their way back into contention for the Premier League title with just four games left to contest. The Blues have suddenly sparked back into life in the
past few weeks, securing 22 of the last 24 points on offer. It is a run that has brought them into second place in the Premier League standings, six points behind leaders Manchester United.
A six point gap may seem too much to overcome at this late stage, but the crucial factor is that Chelsea still have to face the Red Devils at Old Trafford before the end of the campaign. To make things even more interesting, third placed Arsenal also stand
in the way of United and Premier League glory. The Gunners will also face United next week in a match that is bound to have a huge impact on the destination of the Premier League crown.
However, if United manage to get even a point from these two crucial encounters, they will be firm favourites to lift the title this season. Chelsea winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838 knows that it is extremely unlikely that the Red Devils will throw away their lead
now, but he has urged his side to focus on winning their own matches and hope for the best.
Speaking on the state of the title race, the Frenchman said, “Right now we are getting back to our best performances, so we have to keep putting pressure on and keep winning. Honestly, [winning the title] will be difficult. The only thing we are looking
at now is winning every game we have, then you never know.”
He added, “But everyone can see that we still have the ambition and desire to be the best. That's what we want to do until the end of the season.”
Chelsea are currently second in the League standings with 67 points.
