Chelsea’s Florent Malouda backs under-fire coach Carlo Ancelotti
Chelsea midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838 has come to the defence of under-fire Blues boss, Carlo Ancelotti. The Frenchman claims that Ancelotti is the right man to guide Chelsea to glory, both domestically and abroad.
Florent Malouda is one of the many high-profile players whom the club are reportedly looking to offload in the summer, in order to restructure the entire side. However, the midfielder claims that he is more than happy at Stamford Bridge, and would like to
extend his contract with the Blues. Malouda went so far as to say that he could become as integral to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 squad as Ryan Giggs is for Manchester United.
Speaking on the summer transfer rumours, Malouda said, “I just want to feel I am important at the club. Sometimes I don't feel so when I see in the media that the club are thinking of selling me, and I know I'm doing great. I want to be the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 of
Chelsea! I want to extend my contract by one year until 2014.”
He added, “I am waiting for a signal from the club. I am much appreciated by the coach. But I need support from the club as well.”
Though Malouda is over 30, he is still more than capable of competing at the very highest level of English football, something he has proved time and time again with his performances for the Blues this season. Despite enduring a mid-season slump, the Frenchman
is back amongst the goals, scoring three goals in his last two matches.
The midfielder also took the time to show his support for manager Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian is a man under pressure at the moment, having failed to lead his side to the UEFA Champions League title once again. However, Malouda believes that Ancelotti will
achieve that target in the seasons to come.
He concluded, “Everybody seems to want to put pressure on Ancelotti but he's really cool. He knows the squad support him. That's the most important thing for him. I want Ancelotti to stay. Players come and go but the manager is the key. We can win the Champions
League under him one day.”
Chelsea are currently second in the Premier League standings with 67 points.
