Chelsea's Florent Malouda expects tough match against Arsenal
Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has revealed that he is expecting a difficult encounter against Arsenal when the teams meet in the English Premier League on Sunday.
There are four points between the sides, with Chelsea leading the way at the top of the table, and both clubs are desperate to pick up the victory after suffering losses last weekend.
Though Malouda is confident that he can help the Stamford Bridge outfit to pick up the three points, he is anticipating a tough match.
'Big challenge'
He told TalkSport that: ““We have to be in control, put the pace into the game and focus on our game. For them it is an away game and we have seen many times teams coming here and trying to close the game. Arsenal have always played the same way, a passing
game, they have technical quality. It will be a big challenge for us to win against a team in the big four. The game is important because they are just behind us and we want to increase the gap. We lost against Manchester City and we have a home game to get
back to a winning atmosphere. It won’t be easy.”
Chelsea’s loss to City was the first time they have dropped points this season in the EPL. Prior to that defeat, they had been running rampant over the division, winning five games in a row. They scored 21 goals and conceded just one during that run. They
will be hoping that their result in the UEFA Champions League this week — they emerged 2-0 victors over Marseille — will be the catalyst for a big win over the Gunners.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are going into Sunday’s game on the back of a defeat to West Bromwich Albion and a Champions League win over Partizan Belgrade.
