Brazilian side Santos have confirmed they have held informal talks with English Premier League side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838.
The 32-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532 have emerged as suitors for Malouda. They have even approached the London side regarding the possibility of signing the winger and apparently have even held informal
talks.
Santos vice-president Odilio http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigues-c31508 confirmed that the side had indeed held informal talks with the player. The club will now be hoping for talks to proceed further before something concrete can be decided between the two parties.
Rodrigues said in an interview:
“We have only had informal talks.”
Malouda snubbed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 to sign with Chelsea from Lyon in the summer of 2007 for a fee of 13 million pounds. He signed on a three-year contract with the Blues and joined up with the English Premier League side for their friendly against Club American in
pre-season.
He made 38 appearances in the 2007-2008 season at Stamford Bridge, with four goals and seven assists, in a season he had to fight for his place in the squad. A change in management meant the Frenchman had to prove himself to the new manager all over again.
The following seasons had their fair shares of ups and downs for Malouda, as he struggled to retain his place in the starting line-up. In the double winning season, 2009-2010, Malouda made the most number of appearances in a season for the Blues; 51.
During that season he went on to score his highest ever goals for the Blues; 15 and provided 15 assists. It was after the departure of Carlo Ancelotti that Malouda found himself out of favour, but chose to remain with the English Premier League side nonetheless.
He has made a total of 220 appearances in all competitions to date for the Blues and has scored 45 goals, along with 44 assists. Malouda has been linked with a move away from the London side following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863.
Marin and Hazard were signed in the summer transfer window by the Blues from Werder Bremen and Lille, respectively. They are expected to end Malouda’s run at Chelsea, which is why he is looking for a move away in the current transfer window.
