According to recent reports MLS side LA Galaxy are willing to offer Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard a $20 million in an attempt to lure him away from Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
It seems the England midfielder is considering the move away and if rumours are to be believed then Lampard will be making his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 exit this summer, especially since this is definitely not the first time the 34-year-old has been linked with the MLS side.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star who also plays for LA Galaxy, has reportedly been in contact with Lampard and has urged the Blues midfielder to consider a move to the American outfit this summer before he considers retirement.
The LA Galaxy owner Tim Leiweke has previously admitted his admiration of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international. He hinted they were currently attempting to bring in Lampard, which he revealed could take a while.
Leiweke said in an interview:
“I'm a fan of Frank's. I think he's a great player. When I think of Chelsea, I think of Frank Lampard. It took us two years to get http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 to come here the first time.”
According to Leiweke, it had taken the American side two years to sign Beckham, which gave them hope that they could eventually sign Frank Lampard in the near future. With the midfielder having been with the Blues for 12 seasons, he could be looking for
a fresh challenge.
The LA Galaxy owner revealed the club was looking for their next Designated Player, having already identified a few players. If The MLS side somehow manages to sign Lampard, the Chelsea midfielder will fall into the Designated Player category since he will
most definitely fall outside the team’s salary cap.
He continued:
“We're working on the next [Designated Player], and we'll continue to work on the next DP. There are a half-dozen guys we have a good relationship with, and we'll see how that goes. But first we've got to have a spot, and at the moment we don't have
a spot.”
