Lampard’s existing contract with the Champions League winners expires next season and so far there have been no contract talks. This has led to rumours linking the English midfielder with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
His destination of choice is believed to be Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy. He was even spotted with his agent alongside David Beckham at a MLS match. However, Lampard has denied the rumours that he is heading towards a Chelsea exit.
According to the 34-year-old, he was on vacation with his fiancée in LA since it was a place that held special meaning for them; with the pair having been engaged there last season. Lampard revealed his agent had been present merely for some other business
and Beckham had been giving him company since the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man was suspended from that particular match.
Lampard said in an interview:
“There's nothing in that at all. I'm here in Los Angeles on holiday with [fiancée] Christine. We got engaged here last year and we love it over here.
Steve's over here a lot on music and football business. He organized a box so we could go to see the Galaxy game. Becks was suspended for the match, so he came and sat with us and we had a good laugh - that's all.”
The midfielder, who found himself excluded from the European Championships under new manager Roy Hodgson due to a thigh strain he had sustained, said he believed it had been for the best. Lampard admitted he was now looking forward to returning for the Blues
in the upcoming season and hoped to do as well with them as he had done in the 2011-2012 season.
He revealed:
“Now I'm really looking forward to getting back to Chelsea. I'm feeling fit and fresh and I'm raring to go. My thigh strain is completely healed now and maybe missing the Euros was a blessing in disguise for me.”
