After the 2-0 defeat to Everton over the weekend the Portuguese manager revealed he took full responsibility for the loss. However, just the next day the players found themselves face to face with owner Roman Abramovich who attempted to sort things out between
the manager and the players.

out of the top four.
It was initially thought that the Chelsea owner would sack the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 manager if the poor results continued but it seems Abramovich plans to stick with Villas-Boas. Lampard, who has seen the arrival and departure of seven managers in his last ten
years at Stamford Bridge, believes the players were also to blame for the poor performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043.
Lampard said while speaking to reporters:
“It was a bad performance from start to finish.
When you come to Everton, the one thing you know they're going to do is fight you, press you and make things tough and we didn't react to that.”
The 33-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the UEFA Champions League next week. Lampard said this was not time for excuses and that it was time to return to winning
ways and to secure a place in the top four of the English Premier League.
He revealed:
“We have been fighting to win leagues. Now, we are fighting for fourth and that hurts, so we have to react. We know we are in a bad way and we have to dig ourselves out of it.
Different players do come in but whoever plays has to live up to the standards we have set.
If we play like we did at Everton against Napoli, we will give ourselves a mountain to climb.”
